Pinehurst Hills Continues Proactive Wildfire Prevention Efforts

Posted By on May 27, 2026

The Board of Directors continues to take proactive steps to reduce wildfire risk throughout the community. Since December 2025, more than $187,000 has been invested in tree removal, vegetation management, and slope maintenance, including the clearing of hazardous pine trees, Acacia vegetation, and overgrown brush.

The Board has also authorized Pinehurst Hills to apply for the newly opened CAL FIRE Wildfire Prevention Grant alongside neighboring Sycamore Heights. If awarded, the grant could fund hazardous vegetation removal and related project costs at no direct cost to the HOA, including work on both perimeter and interior slopes. Covered expenses may include CEQA compliance, vegetation removal, project management, administration, signage, and associated project requirements. Replacement planting and irrigation are not covered under the program.

In addition, the Pinehurst Hills Fire Safety Committee continues its work toward achieving Firewise Recognition. This effort supports homeowner education, community fire-hardening initiatives, and wildfire preparedness, while also potentially helping reduce insurance costs for HOA members over time.
